The American Basketball Association (ABA) has updated its divisions throughout each of its four regions leading into the 2026-27 season, and for the second consecutive season, Minotaur Media will be unofficially covering the ABA Central Region Red Division and the ABA Central Region Blue Division.

We have confirmed through the ABA’s website and with the ABA’s front office that the two divisions will look like this:

ABA Central Region Red Division

These are the same five teams that finished the season in the Red Division after a midseason realignment.

The Nashville Aces are the 2024-25 and 2025-26 Red Division Champions, as well as the 2025-26 Central Region Champions.

ABA Central Region Blue Division

New to the ABA this year are the Gem City Sabercatz out of Dayton, Ohio, the Naptown Pirates out of Indianapolis, and the Port Huron Wolves out of Port Huron, Michigan. They are all now members of the Blue Division.

The Steel City Yellow Jackets are the 2024-25 and 2025-26 Blue Division Champions and the 2021-22 ABA Champions.

The Indiana Lyons are the 2022-23 ABA Champions.

In January of 2026, the Hoosier State Instigators, Indiana Legends, Indiana Lyons, and Indiana Shuckers were moved by the ABA from the Red Division to the Blue Division to join the Akron Aviators and Steel City Yellow Jackets.

Minotaur Media will be live streaming the 2026-27 home games and the road games in Indiana for the Indiana Legends.

Last season, Minotaur Media was able to establish and develop excellent relationships with all of the teams in the Red Division and developed the unofficial home as a way to follow these teams and provide information to the teams’ fans.

After the January realignment, we started an unofficial home for the Blue Division, too, since all of the Indiana teams were moved and we’re located in the Indianapolis metro area.

We still very much enjoy our friends in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, so we’ll continue following the Red Division this season.

May Not Be Done Yet

Of course, we are still several months away from the start of the 2026-27 ABA regular season, so the Red and Blue Divisions may wind up looking different than they do now, but this is how things currently shake out.
